How to find out if your date is a criminal (while you’re on a date)
Maybe it was something they said. Maybe it’s something they’re doing. Maybe it’s just their general attitude. For whatever reason, you suspect your date is a criminal, and you want to find out if that’s true.
Now, you may still be into them, and you just want to make sure you’re being safe. So, let’s do this secretly. Besides, if they’re a violent criminal, you don’t want to get on their bad side, right?
First things first, we need to get some personal information.
Make small talk about their past. The two things you’re going to need the most are the states that they’ve lived, and their full name. If you have those two things, there are services that can provide the rest of the information you need, and we’ll be using one in particular.
If you can, find an excuse to go to the bathroom, or just to look at your phone for a bit.
This is to preserve your secrecy. You obviously don’t want them peering over, to see their mugshot on your phone. Plus, it’s kind of rude to be on your phone a lot on a date anyways (and once again, you may still be into them). As such, it’s best not to offend your date, and sneak away somewhere more private.
Now, let’s get to the searching.
Head over to SpyFly. It’s a mobile site, which allows you to look at it from your phone. Type in the full name of your date, and select a state that they could’ve been convicted of a crime in. SpyFly will do all the rest, and provide you with any results that match.
Luckily, SpyFly will also provide the mugshots with their criminal record, which can help narrow down results for someone with a common name. Your search will also be kept secret, and so long as you don’t say anything, you can rest confident that your date will never know that you thought they were a criminal.
Now, what are you looking for specifically?
A criminal record. That’s the clearest evidence that they’ve committed a crime, and been found guilty of it. That being said, your feelings regarding crime may be grayer than others. Luckily, the criminal records on SpyFly will detail the crime that was committed, so you can determine for yourself if you find what they did distasteful. Maybe it was only unpaid parking tickets. Maybe it was manslaughter. Regardless, you can find out for yourself what they did, and determine for yourself if you’re comfortable with it.
What do I do if nothing turns up?
If nothing turns up, then either you were given false information, or no court has found them guilty of a crime. Even so, you can look for arrest records, which at the very least will indicate that at some point they were suspected of committing a crime(even if no court case was made). Arrest records will also provide descriptions of what they did, so you can find out if they’ve done something that you find distasteful before as well.
SpyFly provides consumers affordable, immediate access to public record information. Federal laws prohibit businesses from using SpyFly’s service to make decisions about employment, insurance, consumer credit, tenant screening, or for any other purpose subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC 1681 et seq.
